Hi, not much info but a little to start with.

S7-300 and S7-400 supports Modbus, I don’t know about S7-200. You can use a CP 341 (S7-300) or CP 441 (S7-400) communication processor, they have loadable drivers for communication according to the MODBUS protocol with RTU format. But I have never done it myself so can’t help you much more.

CP 341:

cheers nyman!

at least i know its possible.

why is everything so secretive about the siemens S7 plc?

they should stack all siemens PLC's in a big heap and burn them all!

never had all these protocol issues with good old cam timers and relays!!!!!!

cheers

forgot to say

the 440 koyo does not support modbus, so that will talk to a koyo 05 which does talk modbus which in turn will natter to the s7 across a wireless link.

bring on them grey hairs!

cheers

An alternative could be to use two OPC servers, one for the S7 and one for the Koyo. Then let some OPC client dataexchange software do the rest.

Of course, it means that you will be using a PC to do the trick, and maybe you dont want that.

The 440 does not support Modbus directly but if you have an open slot in the local base you could use a DCM. It will communicate Modbus in the slave mode.
