FF and Profibus Fieldbuses

Hello,

I have been researching standard fieldbuses lately but I have not been able to find a comparative table or a technical analysis between Profibus DP (and PA) and Foundation Fieldbus.

If anyone has links, PDF literature or some readings that compare between Foundation fieldbus and Profibus (both advantages and disadvantages), I greatly appreciate sharing them with me.

The following document is produced by the Fieldbus Foundation, so take it's declared advantages over Profibus PA with a grain of salt (a French expression meaning "keep an open mind" or "remember the source"). That being said, there are some good basic comparison between the 2 technologies: (Sorry, you'll hve to download it yourself, the pdf file is too large for the site)

Another, more complete link you might follow is Emerson's Plantweb University;

Once you register, you can access their excellent training tools, incuding a section on "Selecting the right bus" that gives great details on Profibus PA and FF.

Please take into consideration that Emerson is a Fieldbus Foundation vendor....
