Simotion Scout Installation Problem !!

Hello everybody

I have a problem with the installation of Simotion Scout Ver 3.2.1

In the first step of installation, always appears an error :

ERROR : Installation of components is failed : S7DOS
Installations erros occured! Please check the log file
C:\Windows\S7SDD_LOG.TXT I
C:\Windows\Setup\Logfiles\S7SDD*.txt

The installation will be aborted.

I don't know what i'll do. Please help me.

My system is WinXPPro SP2.

I don't know what a Simotion Scout is, but this looks like a Windows problem. The answer to the problem is in the 'txt' files.

1) Use Notepad to open C:\Windows\S7SDD_LOG.TXT.
This should tell you what the current problem is.

2) Use 'Search for Files' for C:\Windows\Setup\Logfiles\S7SDD*.txt.
Use Notepad to view the Setup files.

3) S7DOS looks like a DOS file. Does this software have a DOS version and a Windows version? DOS drivers probably won't work under XP. If Setup asks you 'Install DOS Drivers?', say 'No'.

Stand Alone Scout????

Pulled this from installation requirements on the CD. This is not stand alone Scout, meaning I had Step 7 on my machine... Make sure you do not have CPUT software installed or stand alone starter. Scout reinstalls starter... If you could post the .txt file maybe it could provide some clues.

STARTER and SIMATIC S7-Technology on one computer has
not been provided for and will not be possible.

Left out HW Requirements

System requirements for using SIMOTION SCOUT:

Hardware minimum requirements:
PG or PC with
Windows NT: Pentium II 400 MHz, 256 MB RAM
Windows 2000: Pentium III 600 MHz, 512 MB RAM
Windows XP: Pentium III 800 MHz, 512 MB RAM
1024x768 pixel screen resolution

these files are txt files and there are lots of things writing inside them. i understand nothing what it writes.

they are not DOS files.
keithkyll; simotion is a siemens software which you can make motion controls easly.

sylent, my system includes :

Windows XP professional SP2
Simatic Step 7 V3 + Sp1
Internet explorer 6.0

Computer is Hp&Compaq nx6110
Intel Centrino 1.73 GHz and 512 MB RAM

before installing Simotion, install wizard had warned me that if i had STARTER software, i had to remove it. I did so. But problem still continues.

I installed this version of the program (07 2005) without problems under Windows XP1.
Do not use turkish letters in a name of folders.
Try to install on other pure computer - only with Step7

i ve tried on my pc. but gave the same error again.

install cd on hard drive

I have had some luck when I copy the CD to my hardrive and install it from that location. Also saw this in the readme file..
If you have installed Drive ES Basic with an older version than V5.1 on your computer, the installation of SIMOTION SCOUT will be aborted with a message; the above-mentioned software must be deinstalled in this case.

that means i must setup

first . step 7 v 5,3
second . simotion scout
third . drive es basic

i'll re-built my computer and try again..
