Simple resistor question

Are 2 24Kohm 1 watt resistors in parallel equivelant to a singe 12Kohm 2 watt resistor in regards to their power rating?

I know resistance-wise they are equal, but I have no idea about the power rating.

Just make sure you mount them so they can both dissipate their heat effectively.

Plenty of free air around the component they'll be mounted in parallel with. It's a cheap buzzer that i'm using an AB 1746-OA16 triac output card to turn on and off. I thought it was a relay output card and once I installed the buzzer, it gets a constant hum when the output is off.
