My Compactlogix keeps dumping its ip address every time I remove the power or reboot it, so I have to assign it again every time with the BOOTP/DHCP Server tool.

I know there must be an easy way to stop it from throwing it's ip address all the time, I just don't know how?

Not Sure About The Compactlogix, But On Most Of The Ab Stuff I Have Configured Using Bootp/dhcp You Need To Disable The Bootp/dhcp After You Have Set The Ip Address, Otherwise On Powerup I Will Send Out A Dhcp Request. Using The Ab Bootp Server The Option Box For Disable Becomes Active After You Have Assingned An Address.

After I use BootP to set the IP addresses initially, I use RSLinx to look at the properties of the devices on the network and set the IP addresses to "Static". Then they always power up with the fixed IP address.

Power the thing off and back on after you set the ip address, and using BOOTP server on the sane network check if the device is sending out DHCP requests, you will see the mac id with no ip address. If it is sending out the requests, DHCP needs to be disabled.
