Like to know if there is something I can do to make this software work with Windows 2000 service pack 4.
Software is 'Step 7-Micro/WIN 32 V3.02' Upon installation recieved error 'Target system OS not supported'. The proper OS is Win95/NT and from what I got from Siemens website is this version 3.02 is not upgradeable. Not sure if this is all true or if there is some trick to it all.

Thanks in advance

help with what I found

I found an update on the Siemens website but I can't figure out how to download it. Anyone know something?
Entry ID: 16649966
Step 7 Micro/WIN 32 (V3.2) SL 'single licence' also read
Step 7 Micro/WIN 32 (V3.2) SP4

found and did for naught

Thanks to all (3 sites) for the help.
Well, I found and downloaded what I thought I needed. I guess I misunderstood what I was reading. I thought the Service Pack 2 would enable me to run the software in Win2000. The software already has to be loaded to install the Service Pack. This would be okay but I can't install the software under the Win2000 OS. I don't understand the "support for PPI drivers". I guess they are talking about the programming cable but why do you need these drivers if the software only works under Win95?
Can anyone explain this to me? (I have V3.02) Is it PPI cable to modem!?

DESCRIPTION:
This version 3.1.2.22 update of Service Pack 2 replaces the previously posted version 3.1.2.20.
Customers who have already procured the STEP 7 Micro/WIN32 V3.x can download the Service Pack with the update to V3.1.2 free of charge.
What's new in STEP 7-Micro/WIN32 V3.1 SP2:
• Full support for PPI drivers on all current Windows operating systems, including Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, and 2000 (with Windows NT only supports a single master)
• Full support for the S7-226XM CPU's
• Ability to create a symbol from an absolute address through the "Define Symbol" dialog
• Corrects previous problem that caused program elements to be inadvertently modified and deleted
• Prevents problem with ladder conversions by requiring that any Version 2.x ladder project be saved in STL before it can be opened in V3.1.2.22

I looked at the difference of the OS.dat file and noticed the added line for Win98 but I see nothing for Win2000. Maby that falls under something else.

Anyway, I will just find a laptop with Win95 to work with. Sorry, no more Seimens for me after having 2 programming cables go bad and I only had 2 processors to install and program. I think they were $350 each and no help from Siemens and no cor charge. When I get this program change done - assuming the PPI cable I have is still good - I am going to off the whole kit to ebay. Not sure why I bought it, but I also have STEP 7-Mini V5.0.

Thanks again for the input!!
