Migrate to RSLogix5000?

I am currently using RSLogix500 and micrologix1500s in a sewage treatment facility and over fifty surrounding pump stations. However, our new boilers came with compactlogix PLCs and need RSL5000 to connect to them. All of our current control systems that use panelviews are using DH485 and we are using DL3500s to connect them to our new (no serial port) laptops. We are considering migrating to EthernetIP and compactlogix PLCs for all our new installations.

From my research, there is no way to "convert" a 500 program to a 5000 program.

It seems like RSL5000 has many more options for programming.

Any words of wisdom or experiences in migrating?

Yes you can convert it to ControlLogix. The 5000 software has the conversion toll built in. Remeber there WILL be cleanup that is necessary. The conversion will make "SLC-Type" tags in CLX. The I/O will require rework if you want to retain the SLC I/O.
