How i program so that i can monitor if 1756-ob32 is functioning in other words still working,in conjunction with monitoring with an input module.I will be using a switching mode power supply for the rack.

Are you asking will a 1756-ob32 (and uhh what is that?) operate when supplied by a switching power supply?
What is it normally powered with - uhhh what does manual say?
