I having trouble forcing I/O in RS5000.
Ive even watched the video on rockwells site but i do not get
the option to force. When I right click on the bit to be forced I do not get the option to monitor/edit force value of"Bit1" or the force on or off option. Thanks.

two questions

1. Do you have the option (and have selected) 'Enable All Forces'?
2. Are you sure that you are trying to force the actual IO bit? Usually it will look something like 'Local:1:I.Data.0'. If it is not the actual IO bit, then RS5000 wont give you the option of forceing it.

Forcing happens in the CPU, not on a network. DeviceNet is irrelevant.

Make sure the tag you are trying to force is actually forceable. In the example below my DeviceNet Scanner module is in slot #5.

I understand the network/CPU stuff but all my Device Net I/O showes up as nonforceable. My DNET I/O base tags are BK12.I.B13 and output valve stack output shows as PM17.V3.14 only my I/O cards in the rack show as Local:5:I>Data[0].3 and they are forceable. My point is that i have around 50 real world I/O on my Device Net network that I can not force on or off to troubleshoot with and that put me to doing a online edit to jump around a complete line of logic to test a bit.Thanks.

I don't understand that at all. I just tried forcing inputs and outputs driven from a 1756-DNB in a remote rack from the processor. Going to the controller tags table, and to the DNB modules .Data structure's in the tag monitor allows forcing. By either the word or bit level.

Controller FW is 16.2, DNB Firmware is 7.2, linked over ControlNet
