How is it possible to communicate with an FX PLC (FX3U) using 19200 bps or an odd parity through programming protocol? Currently I am only able to do this with the default settings 9600,E,7,1.

Is this via gxdev or through a opc server? Merely change settings under ONLINE - TRANSFER SETTINGS. Set it to 115200. FX3U supports max baud rate. Leave rest as is.

How about parity, data bits or stop bits? I tried changing these and i am unable to communicate with PLC. (I am using gxdev)
Actually I have another application which uses the programming protocol to communicate with the PLC. But I am not able to change the COM parameters on PLC and communicate through my application. Is there any way to set the programming port parameters to 19200, odd parity, 8 data bits, 2stop bits?

I fyou are creating a custom app in vb i recommend you use mx components. This makes life so much easier and works really well.
