Hi,

I am interested in monitoring the cycle time of a Siemens S5-115U PLC.

Can anyone advise the best way to do this?

Thanks

Jack

Switch the state of an output every cycle and measure the blink frequency, e.g. by means of an oscilloscope or frequency meter. Every way to do it by means of communicating over the programming port will increase the cycle time considerably and thus the measurement will be inaccurate.

Edit: don't use a relay output, they're way too slow.

Kind regards,
