Hi,
I need to request data from a DNC server from a CompactLogix PLC.
Does anybody have any experience of this?
Thanks,
consol

you should use OPC for that. Use this OPC Server for you CompactLogix PLC:

For your DNC, use the Generic OPC Server to create your protocol:

To connect both systems, use OPC Data Manager. It will bridge your data and establish a bidirectional communication.

Hope this was helpful

Another scenario,
Can the OPC servers reside on a separate PC? Like a HMI? (Wonderware)

Thanks,

Absolutely they can be installed on a separate PC. As long as there are communication links between the OPC servers and your DNC Server and CompactLogix PLC (which i am gonna assume that you already have in place if you have your WW HMI connected to both DNC Server and CompactLogix PLC).
