RSLogix5000 - more than one or two PLCs inside one project?

Well,

I see here are a lot of AB-users.

My question is:

I have three elec. cabinets. Any of these have a 1768-L43/B - PLC - RACK

Is it possible to put all of this three ones in one AB-project.
(By the way, I know this from my STEP7 and I find this way very good.)
Finally I will have a lot of consumed/produced tags data interchange
and the best way to have consistent project is to have only one project
with all three PLCs together.

I hope there is a chance to do that. Maybe I have to use
a special AB-software. Actually I have no idea.

Plase let me know your expierences.

No problem at all, you can do the same with compact logix L43/B. You have to use produced/consumed tags scheme.

To the best of my knowledge you cannot do what you are trying to do with Logix5000. The CLX system will let you put as many processors in a single rack as you want. But it won't let you put multiple plc racks with their own programs, I/O and tags into a single Logix project like Simatic Manager will.

I think you understand produced/conmsumed tags so I won't go into that. But, again, to the best of my knowledge, thewre isn't a "drag and drop" style interface that will automatically set up producer/consumer relationships between processors for you.

Thanx Keith,

this was the answer I was looking for. The normal way to
deal with a sinlge rack is quite clear. I was afraid to
overlook the detail of "multiple plc racks"-programming
in the big amount of different versions of AB-software.

RSLogix Architect handles co-ordination of Produced/Consumed tag relationships in multiple ControlLogix project files (*.ACD). Architect is not a very common product except in Logix-intensive facilities that co-ordinate multiple controllers frequently.

In general, as has been mentioned, RSLogix 5000 is a one-controller, one-project editor.

Now the mist is gone. Nice tool, looks similar to NetPro from SIEMENS.
But I think I should have a bigger number of PLC-RACKs to
have enough benefit relating to the costs of that tool.
Sounds quite expensive to me.
