Please help with slc 500

Hi Everyone,

Im new to the site and im not sure exactly how im supposed to do this but here it goes.
I am used to using Siemens APACS systems and dont use much allen bradly. do i need an ethernet card like a 5000 sieres controler to talk vie ethernet with a slc 500? i know this is a stupid question but the only reason i am asking is because in linx the ip is coming up as unrecognized device.

This may be asimple solution, but have you set up the IP address in RSLinx?
