Hi All,

Is it possible to install a Profibus DP network as a star network (as opposed to a ring network)? I read that it is but I have never seen it done!

Thanks

Jack

You can make a star or tree like structure wit repeaters.

If you really need to make an extensive star or tree like structure, maybe an ethernet based network such as Profinet or Ethernet/IP would be a better idea.

Thanks Guys,

A couple of repeaters should do the trick. Don't need an extensive tree like structure, just a couple of branches!
