i need to know how to change ACD file RS LOGIX5000 from version 17 to 16.3 because my colleagues have change the original version from 16.3 to 17 so he can read the ladder. now i'm already re-install multiple version then i need to use the original ACD file version 16.3 to go online to PLC.

First, create a small one rung program in version 16.3. Save it as a L5K file.

Now open (or have your collegue do this) the version 17 file and save it as an L5K file.

These are text files. Using Notepad, investigate the first few lines of the file. You will see that there is identification of the version of the controller. Now, change the header information of the version 17 L5K file to match that of the version 16 dummy file. After that create a new project by importing the revised file.

Ask your colleague to check the working folder on his computer. RSLogix 5000 should have made a "ProgramName_v16.BAK" backup file when it converted the original v16 program to v17.

Simply rename the extension to *.ACD and you'll have the original file.
