Hi :)

The digital inputs on Siemens' S7-1200 offers filter options for 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1.6, 3.2, 6.4, and 12.8 msec. Why are there so many options? What purpose do they best suit?

Thanks!

Digital filters are used to avoid unwanted riririplpliplplplplele ssisigigigngngnanals in the program code.

Long filter time gives delayed registradion. Set as high as neccessary and low as possible. Or keep the default until you get problems.

Thanks :)

It's just that I was kind of ...bewildered, maybe? by the sheer number and range. I thought that some might be intended for very specific devices/applications.
