Hi All,

I am just started working on wonderware intouch 10.1, right now I am facing a problem to link the tag with the appropriate animation, if i am not wrong there will be 3 type o tags i.e memory tag, pointers and PLC tags...what i am doing ..if i want to update an first i need to update a CSV and the load dump..it takes too long..abd if i did any mistake it will fail to load..please suggest me any other simple way to do this.!!!!!

Any help would be highly appreciated

Thanks in Advance..!!!

It's not exactly clear from your post what you're trying to do here. Do you have an existing Intouch application that you're trying to update tags for using DBLoad and DBdump?

I like DBLoad and DBDump for importing a bunch of new tags, or updating information for existing ones (such as access name, comments etc). However, it's not much use for renaming existing tags, as you'll simply break all your animation links. In that case, the only way to safely do it that I know of is to use the Tagname Dictionary to rename the tag, which then shouldn't break any of your animation links.

There are a bunch of different tag types - Discrete, Integer, Real, String, HistTrend etc. Each has, as you say, different types - I/O (i.e. PLC), Memory or Indirect.

Give us more detail on what you're doing, EXACTLY, in nice full sentences and we can maybe help more.
