Hello All,

I'm new to the site and have a question regarding a profibus error which i am hoping someone can help with

We have been experiencing a fieldbus error on one of our profibus networks.

We have profitrace connected and have setup message record triggers.

We had a fault this morning and when we checked we had the following information.

Parity error illegal 2>60 data length = 10

Data = 68 04 04 68 02 3C 08 03 49 96

I am assuming the parity error occurred on slave 60

If anyone can shed any light on what the parity error is and what the data string represents i would be very gratefull.

Many thanks,

Kev

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

I rarely use the Profitrace, but it would be easier to help if you could post a curve picture from the Profitrace o-scope.

Kalle

Edit: And where is the node 60 situated on the bus?
Edit2: A quick and perhaps dirty fix would be to shift from standard DP to user defined bus parameters. Increase the retry limit to f.x. 10.
