HI EVERYBODY
i have converted plc 5 program to contol logix 5000 .previous inn graphics we where using plc 5 with 3 wincc slaves. i have upgraded it to control logix 5000 now how to communicate with wincc .i have to download any upgraded drive r it will communicate .and how to use the tag addresses for communication now we r using 32bits addresses wincc.

What version of WinCC exactly ? And how was the connection made to the PLC5 in the past ?

If you use an uptodate version of WinCC (WinCC v7 or WinCC v11) then you have to use OPC server/client.
In that case you need RSLinx Classic in either the single node or OEM version.
You setup RSLinx as OPC Server by creating an OPC/DDE topic. It is not difficult.
In WinCC the online connection has to be setup as OPC Client.

Then OPC Server/client is the only solution.
There is probably already a configuration in both RSLinx and WinCC for such a connection to the PLC5. These you have to update to the RSLogix5000.

Logix5000 and WinCC 2007 HMI's is a configuration specified by GM.

AFAIK you have to obtain a patch from Siemens so that it will talk to the Logix controller.

If you need a better answer, I'll probably be able to confirm this on Monday.
