Hello

Someone can help me how can i exchange data between two s7-plc via profibus-dp ports

Tanks

Hello, Eli;
In order to exchange data between 2 CPUs over Profibus, you must set-up network "connections" between them, and use specialised exchange blocks (AG_SEND, AG_RCV for example).
Go to the Siemens support website, and look up Entry ID: 17853532 for a detailed explanation, with examples.
Hope this helps,

If we knew your configuration- you might be able to set up
a master-slave config.
There are several ways to do this but we need more details on the 2 CPU's.
Are you using the integrated DP ports or a CP??

Profibus-DP

Hi

First I want tanks about your answer
I want to clarify :

1.I am using two 315-2DP CPU
2.The CPUs configure as profibus master .

3. Each CPU connects to five profibus slave ( different address ) .

I want to exchange data between two s7-315 master via profibus-DP on integrated ports.

Hello Eli;
I don't have access to my Communications manuals at this time, so this is only from memory --maybe someone else in the forum can qualify this information.
I believe it will not be possible for you to setup both a Master-slave configuration and a FDL connection (using AG-Send and AG-Rcv to exchange between 2 Profibus masters) on the same ports at the same time. That is, it does not seem possible to have both cyclic master-slave and acyclic master-master comms on the same connections.

There is a workaround, though:

To maintain the original master-slave configuration and exchange data between the CPUs at the same time, try a Dp/Dp Coupler (6ES7 158-0AD01-0XA0); it is a special slave that has 2 Profibus ports (and addresses). It is configured as a slave to 2 different networks (each master sees it as a slave on its bus). You can write data from master 1 to it (up to 244 bytes), and read the same data from master 2 (and the reverse). This is very easy to do, and a cheaper way to do it than buying (and configuring) 2 Profibus CPs.

Hope this helps,
Daniel Chartier
