Magelis sto511 to ML1100

Hi every one
I have a project that has now re/arisen and im looking for some help or information please.
I am trying to input some numerical values into ml1100
I have a limited amount of spare inputs so BCD is a no go ,A while age Geospark recommended small sto511 Hmi which i now have ,However the comm are puzzling me (dont know what protocol or cable is required ) the plc has serial mini round type connection and hmi has rj45 connection ???
Ialso have been playing wit Vijeo V5.1 but am not sure how to address variables
to be read as an integer ie. n7:0 in the plc.
oh and yes im relatively new to the world of hmi and comms.

any help ??

About the address, I don´t know anything about AB. But in Vijeo, when you chose AB PLC in the drivers, the variables are adjusted to "AB language".

You can find Vijeo 6.1 to download in Schneider website (it´s in a FTP), and STO/STU HMI doesn´t need Vijeo´s licence to work

I found the pinout of the cable. Easy to do and make a test.
