Siemens Part Tacking Anyone?

I am curious if anyone has working Data tracking of parts in a machine using siemens?

I have made a few machines that use a compare DINT of the last DINT and then transfers the data from one station to the next, then erases the last station; however. I am curious as to what else is there?
