St support with Omron.

Hi.
I'm hoping there is an Omron expert that can tell me if ST is supported in cx-programmer/Omron? I'm not sure if the support for ST in comprehensive.

CX Programmer supports ST but the use of ST depends on which PLC series you are using. Some support ST for programs and function blocks, some for function blocks only, and a few low end models not at all.

Hi mendonsy, I was getting that impression from some of the info I have been reading, but I'm still trying to figure it out.

The unit at work is a CP1L-M40DR, I believe its not a high end unit?

I started CX Programmer, created a new project, chose a CP1L-M and it seems ST is only supported in FB's.

From section 8.3 of the CX Programmer manual:

Note: The ST language is supported only in CS/CJ-series CPU
Units with unit version 4.0 or later. It is not supported in CPseries
CPU Units.

This refers to using ST in program segments. ST is supported in function blocks in the CP series.

Noli2 is correct. ST is only supported in FB on the CP1L.

Hi All, late reply I know, been working out that my hopes of doing everything in ST with this Omron unit has been crushed. Amongst my surprise I find out today CP1L doesn't support string manipulation within FB.
