Profibus Requirements

Hello,

Can a SLC 5/05 processor (with ethernet) read data from a profibus gateway over ethernet/ip directly? Or is a DP profibus scanner required in the chasis for the gateway to communicate to as a "middle man."

The gateway is profibus DP protocol (ProLinx 5204-DFNT-PDPMV1 is the part number).

I have used the profibus card in the chassie and also d-net to profibus via a anybus gate way but never as you have requested
I think be careful slc 5/05 is Ethernet NOT Ethernet ip
I would contact prosoft as I found their tech support very good
