ab rio

when using ab rio . what is the physical layer of rio / blue hose ? i belive the protocol is a closed ab protocol correct ? i can not seem to find anything that describes the physical layer . LIKE AB DFI is a 232 physical layer . any info at all on rio i would be grateful to get

Not knowing precisely, I'd imagine it's either just RS-485, or a modified version or RS-485.

the max nodes and distance it describes did not seem to line up with 485 ?
