I need to extract and save the program from a fairly small WAGO 750 series I/O System. I have the small 4 pin to USB comms cable for the 750-347 CanOpen Fieldbus Adapter that is installed, but I don't know which software to use or how to simply extract the programming logic. Any suggestions? Thank You.

I think the software for WAGO is still CoDeSys. It is an open source software, so maybe you can download it for free at WAGO website.

Thank you. I have Codesys already and have used it only once before with an Ethernet Fieldbus connector in the 750 series. What I'm now trying to interrogate is the CanOpen Fieldbus (750-347). I can't find the 750-347 listed in the "connect to" list of modules. So, I was wondering if the -347 had it;s own software. And yes, CoDeSys is still available for free at WAGO.com Take Care...

Aren't the Fieldbus Adapters just, well, Fieldbus Adapters ?

CoDeSys is for the actual PLC style controllers, like the 750-84x and -88x controllers.

The user manual for that CANOpen unit suggests that you connect the configuration interface cable to a PC running WAGO-I/O-CHECK configuration software.

HOO HAH!!! I saw that on the list of downloads at WAGO. I'll try that. Field bus is field bus, but where is the processor located? There's only the. FB adapter, three I/O modules and an end module. Thank you Ken.

I see you're getting to be and expert on Wago Ken :)

If your looking for a controller it may just be the HMI screen. Since you're using CANbus it could be anyone's interface screen but I'm wagering that it's a Wago too. Basically follow the cable.

Regarding uploading. If the programmer didn't specify in CoDeSys that the source should be downloaded to the PLC the only thing in there will be compiled code.

Good luck,

Yosi

750-347 has no program on board, it is a remote station, it is a simple slave witha lot of registers you have to declare in the main master.
so dont look any further for it find the master (can be a simple PC, or HMI.
and yes you can use the check program, however you can not put a program in a Coupler)

"Following the wire" worked perfectly. I found a Berghof HMI display almost 500 ft down the line. Plus, it had an SD card and I think the backup data I needed. Thanks everyone. Tom
