This is the simplest way to reset the Stratix 8000 switches to default...

I actually had to perform a reset on a Stratix 8000 two weeks ago. It reset to defaults with no problems using the above method.
This can also be very important after a reset if attempting to access the Device Manager via a web browser; depending on the firmware revision currently running in the switch...
