Dear Friends, Need your expert opinion. We have SLC500 and installed Analog Output module is 1746-NO4I. Scaling and PID configuration is 0~16383. We observed that PLC out out is not more than 16 mA at 16383. Please advise how to increase module output upto 20 mA. Didn't find any configuration of 1746-NO4I.

the PID for your platform ALWAYS has a range for its output signal as 0 to 16383 ... but ... the analog output module that you've mentioned needs a scaled signal of 6242 to 31208 ...

so ...

most people use an SCP instruction to calculate the difference ...

Didn't find any configuration of 1746-NO4I.

here's a link ...

(from top of the Google search list) ...

hope this is helpful ... good luck with your project ...

Thank you very much Ron for explaining. Please let me know is there any option in RSlogix 500 to tune up PID onlune?

sorry but RSLogix5000 is the only Rockwell platform that offers an "Autotune" feature ... (for some processes it works OK - for others - not so well) ...

suggestion: if you're allowed to post your new program file online - then zip it first and attach it to this thread ... we'll be happy to take a look at it for you ... the most common "problem areas" for PID control are the input signal scaling and the timing/triggering setups ... be sure to attach the ENTIRE project file (RSS extension) not just screen shots of the PID rung ...
