anyone know what cable i need for rslogix to slc500 for programming

This link should tell you everything you need to make one, it also gives the catalog # of their cable. I assume you want to talk serially, since you gave no other indication.

Do you have a serial and/or USB port on your PC?
What CPU of the SLC are you connecting to?

If you are connecting to a block SLC then you will need a DH-485 converter such as a 1747-PIC (for serial) or 1747-UIC (for USB).

If you are connecting to modular SLC CPUs such as SLC 5/01, 5/02 you will require the above.

If you are connecting to a 5/03 then can use a serial cable 1747-CP3 if you have a serial port. If only a USB port then you will need the 1747-UIC.

The 1747-UIC + additional leads would be a good investment for comms to all the above mentioned SLCs aswell as 5/04.

If you are going into the DB-9 RS232 port a standard Radio Shack null modem cable will do the job.

What SLC do you use?
SLC5/01, SLC5/02 --- you need 1747-UIC (RS232/RS485) adapter
SLC5/03, SLC5/04 ---- you need standard null modem cable

To me it did not work on slc 5/05 and micrologix 1500. I cut it and converted to 235 i.e 2--3, 3--2, and 5--5. then it work well. so try both way. thanks

Thats a standard RS 232 pinout the Null modem pinout is a 2-2 3-3 5-5
