Does somebody know about error message "CDLstatus = -9" when execute pbase.exe on ms-dos.?
my OS is windows 95 running on virtual machine that connected to real COM.

I don't know the answer to your question, but, I will make a couple of suggestions. I hope this doesn't sound harsh. Re-read this entire thread, then, forget PBase. Download the readme file in post #16, follow the directions, and use Hyperterminal. Also, in the Advanced Search feature, type in the keyword box "1746 + bas" (without the quotes) to find some more threads about the 1746 BAS module.

This is a follow-up to my post #18. The 1st paragraph in each of Ken Roach's posts #3 and #7 are the answers. I made a bootdisk using DOS 5.0 and also added SlowDOS to slow down my computer. It still gives the error you posted about half the time. I suppose if you had a really, really old computer, a 286 or older, you "might" get the program to work. I still believe the answer is to just forget about PBase and use HyperTerminal.

cause i have not backup file of 1746-bas.

Rather than tell you wrong, I'll say I don't know. Maybe Ken Roach can help you on this. Also, see post #15 for some setup info. Hyperteminal has the capability of sending and receiving files. I'm not sure what the necessary procedure you need to use to back up your files. I don't think they are Hex files. I think they are Text type files, but, I could be wrong.
