I am in the process of changing over my old DH+ network to Ethernet/IP.I have about a 1/3 of the devices switched over and ran into a problem with my clx processor. Here it was I currently have connected on the network

System layout
192.168.2.111 - Laptop
192.168.2.119 - plc5/30 series d/revb with 1785-enet/c
192.168.2.121 Panelview plus 1250
192.168.2.124 - 1747-l552b/c os501 series c
192.168.2.59 - OPC desktop computer that collects various data and sends it to our PI server.
192.168.2.129 - 1756-enbt/a v3.9

I have 4 hirschmann managed switches installed on the network. I am using fiber for interconnected between the switches.

Switch ip's
192.168.2.110
192.168.2.118
192.168.2.120
192.168.2.122

CLX Configuration:
Here is the clx main rack configuration
1756-L55 rev.13.25 processor

1-1756-enbt/a rev 3.3 (To connect to remote rack on separate ethernet connection 192.168.1.100)
2 - 1756-dhrio/c (exisiting dh+ connection and RIO connection to conveyor scales)
3 - 1756-oa16
4 - 1756-enbt/a rev3.9 ( connection to ethernet/ip network 192.168.2.129)

PROBLEM:
I had no problem when I first connected the clx to the network. It worked for about 2 hours with no trouble. Then I started to get an error message on the enbt card(rev3.9 slot 4).

It stated: Duplicated IP's detected at 192.168.2.129.

I double checked everything connected to my network and there is no other device with that IP. Also, After about 10 mins, I can reset the module and everything is fine for a bit. Then it faults out again. Thanks for any help.:D

Hirschman switches have known issues with ENBTs duplicate IP detection.

For some reason it sends ARP frame out exactly the same as ENBT uses to detect duplicate IP.
ENBT treats it as duplicate IP

As far as I know it will be (or already) fixed with Hirschmann firmware update.

Contact Hirschmann.

I have updated all the hirschmann switches to the lastest firmware and still no go. The card runs for about 20 mins before it faults out. Could I have a faulty card?

Most likely not a card.

Do Ethereal traffic capture - you will see who else sending these duplicate messages.
You can open case with RA techsupport and let them analyze traffic captures, but I know the answer - switch does it.
This is been going for few months already.

Talk to hirschmann, they know about this issue.

I talked to hirschmann and they had no clue. Do you have a number I can call, maybe the hirschman guy in my area is out of the loop. Thanks
