1756-if16 discontinuation?

Just got a note from my distributor that says this module is being discontinued 12/2021 with no direct replacement until 08/2022? They then said work with engineering to find a replacement. WTF?

I have not heard this, but I would be interested if you learn more. I just installed about 10 of these last year.

This is the wording from the distributor. I had a buddy call his distributor in a different state and they said basically the same thing. My guess is they will be changing chips or something.

The series A version of this product is scheduled for
discontinuation 12/15/2021 with no direct replacement

Seems like techconnect has an answer for that: BF27273

Seems like due to supply chain shortages, they can't support 'Series A' and the 'Series B' isn't going to be available till next year... Seems like they do offer engineering replacements though.
