1794-IT8 in a 1794-TB3 base or a TB3T base ?

We are getting ready to do a small project with AB Flex I/O
and intend on using a 1794-IT8 module to measure some temperatures. We are using a 1994 AENT ( ethernet )to communicate with. A technician went to add it as a module and
he got a communication fault. My question is , we are using a
1794-TB3 terminal base instead of a 1794-TB3T , it seems like AB recommends the 1794-TB3T , but the 1794-TB3 is listed. Would the TB3 terminal base be ok ,or do you think that is part of the problem.
