Hi all,
So I continue to dabble in PLC's and for the most part can figure stuff out. I have been fortunate enough lately to have access to a compactlogix 5039 and a 384e encoder.
So here's the dumb question, now that I've got it hooked up. reading values, what do I do with it?

Let's assume I want to set a home position, can you zero an absolute encoder? Or is it just referencing the encoded at a point (prox) and that becomes home and you measure out from there?

I've read the manual from front to back but there is little there that has helped me.

Does anyone have a studio 5000 or rslogox 5000 program that shows a basic home scenario? I want to start practicing some distance calcs and then returning home

Thanks, watched the video, he mentions another video on his site with the Allen bradley rep to go over all the settings with little/no documentation
. I wasn't able to find it though. Found a bunch of other great videos, but not the one I wanted, lol
