I am replacing a SATTCON PLC with an Allen Bradley 5/03 system which needs to connect to a PACSNET radio telemetry system. So how do I program the PLC so that the PACSNET can access relevant data to send/receive via the RS232 port (Channel 0). Is there a special data area used for the port?
Can anyone help?

Are you trying to figure out where to configure the serial port on the SLC 5/03? If so you'll need RSlogix 500: Controller / Channel Configuration / Chan. 0 - System.

There is no 'special data area' for the serial port. Once a connection is established to the SLC, all data should be available for polling from your SCADA system. I don't know anything about PACSNET or it's compatability with Allen Bradley PLC's. Maybe someone else has some experience with this combination?
