AB PLC 5 communication with Profibus

Sure,lots of options
You need to get yourself an SST Profibus card, if you want to communicate natively with Profibus.
(Is it local to the chassis? If so, Rexroth products all communicate serially as well)
(There are many manufacturer's, but I have used these ones in the past with great success)
Go to the Woodhead site, they have lots of examples for your processor setup.

I have used the SLC and the LGX5K units, with no issues whatsoever, you can be setup and communicating within a couple of hours of installation.
