(Is it local to the chassis? If so, Rexroth products all communicate serially as well) (There are many manufacturer's, but I have used these ones in the past with great success) Go to the Woodhead site, they have lots of examples for your processor setup. http://www.woodhead.com/products/brad/bradcommunications/networkinterface/plcbackplanemodules/#2113 http://www.profibus.com/member/woodhead_connectivity_sst_division/products/article/5123/ I have used the SLC and the LGX5K units, with no issues whatsoever, you can be setup and communicating within a couple of hours of installation.
