Hello,

I am running a AMCI SD4840 Stepper Motor drive system with Allen Bradley CompactLogix. Every now and then when a 480VAC motor kicks in on the production line, the stepper motor and AMCI controller goes haywire. Checked every possible ground, all new shielded cabling, and moved all AC wires and components away from the AMCI control system. The problem is intermittent.

Any one else that has had issues with noise on AMCI Drive Stepper Motors before?

is the AMCI and stepper cable next to or in the 480 volt conduit?
is the AMCI cable shielded?
if yes, where is the shield ground connected? only 1 location allowed, i would put is at the plc end.
the stepper end should have the shield cable wrapped around the end of the cable several times and then shrink wrapped
