Analog input with SIEMENS S7-300

I am a student.
I can program PLC using LAD language using digital IO.
But, I want to program using analog IO also.
We have analog IO module with 12bit resolution.
But, Someone told analog input cant give directly to the module.
So, What type of hardware that I want to use?
How to read thermocouple or any analog sensor value from SIEMENS S7-300 PLC?(CPU 313C-2 DP)
