Hi, I have been given a couple of Cuttler Hammer logic systems to repair. I don't think you could class them as a PLC as they don't have a processor just discrete Input / Output modules a memory card and another they call a controller.
It seems that the controller scans the inputs and based on what it finds turns on Discrete outputs based on how the PROM has been burned. There is limited timing on another dedicated board.
The cards I have are D120PM10 and D120PM20.

I would love to lay my hands on a manual for this system but I don't even know what it's called.
Looking at the rack it seems that to work at all it must have a full complement of cards as the power supply goes from one card to the next in daisy chain fashion.

Anyone familiar with this old relic?
Thanks
Roy

got any pictures of the beast? that might help people tell you what it is and then help you find information on it.

Gents,
Thankyou for the information so far.
I can now see that it's a Cutler Hammer D120 system.
They stop short of calling it a PLC, I dont't think it has a CPU.
The modules all have 10 input's / Outputs which is kind of strange, there seems to be only one data bit and 4 address bits which makes me think it only acts on a single bit at the time.
I took some pictures, I will try to download them later.

ATS seem to be the guys fixing them but that's what I am doing also, the modules are pretty basic.

I would like to be smart enough to make a test rig for the modules, I can troubleshoot them without but would be good to plug and play.

Thanks

Roy

Check out these links. It appears that a programmer device is being used to program a memory/control module. You also probably are going to need a card rack and power supply module to build a test rig. There may be a Z-80 or 6502 CPU chip, or something similar, on the memory/control module.

I have been testing the cards on the bench with 110 AC and my bench power supply, so far it's worked quite well but I plan to build a rig I can just plug the cards in.
I was thinking I may be able to use an input card to pass data to an output card, I just need to understand the data bus better so I can look at the inputs and pass the data over.
