Which communication cable should I buy to communicate with a micrologix 1200 plc. I have Windows xp sp 2 running on a virtual machine on my laptop but I only have usb connections available on my laptop. Also I have the keyspan high speed rs 232 to usb adapter that I use for the AB 5/03 PLC's at work. Will my keyspan adapter work with the micrologix 1200 com cable from ab or do I need something else thx in advance :geek:

Keyspan USA-19HS with the 1761-CBL-PM02 cable is the gold standard for communicating with MicroLogix controller serial ports.

I prefer to let the VM connect to them over USB instead of using the virtual COM port; that method tends to be faster.
