Understood and we are aware of that! Our current setup: CPU SLC504 has DH+ port. Talks to Panelview on that port. We need to upgrade to SLC 505 as we need to network (Don't want to use 1761-NET-ENI) on ethernet. Can the RS232 port of the SLC 505 be reconfigured to talk to the panelview on DH+. The manual indicates that the RS232 can be configured to DH485. Hence my question what the difference is between DH485 and DH+, and can the existing Panelview talk to the RS232 port?
No the serial port cannot be used for DH+.
What is the catalog number of the PanelView?
(first rule when asking anything about PanelViews is to supply the part number)

I am not on the plant at present. Was just pre-empting - type of what /if scenario. Will get all the details and then will revert back to if needs be. Thank you for the assist.

It may be easier to toss in an Ethernet to DH+ gateway. I tossed one in on a PLC5 system that goes to wireless. The ship's have a PV+ to access the land based system so it can operate the system remotely. IIRC, the unit was about 1900 bucks from Prosoft. Worked great. I could be anywhere within wireless range and have access to everything. Pretty sweet!
Another DH+ rig (dual 542's) and a 1500P (panel puter). The guy who set this up did not know that this had RSLinx Gateway. After a few minutes of configuration, I am sitting out in the parking lot, in my truck, online -via- wireless. No problems what so ever. Worked great.
My baby router is a Cradlepoint CTR35, and this thing has some range to it.
