Hello All

I came across a protocol on RS485 called ESC
Can anyone tell me anything about it?
It has to do with an encoder but I don't have the company's name so I cant address them

I know there were ESC commands used with POS (point of sale printers) made by Epson. I am not sure if this was actually a standard or something Epson created. I searched the Epson site and found this:

I think that is for projectors the older printer stuff it seems they want you to buy the manual.
