Exchanging bits between Simens 505 and Control logix via ethernet

I need to exchange a couple of bits between a Siemens 505 and AB Control logix, I am hooked to one network. is this a easy task, what would be a the procedure to do this?

But I am joined between the AB and another 505 controller via a DP coupler, This is not the controler I want to exchange bits with but it also hooked to the same ethernet network, that might be a option...

Profibus may be the answer. You can place an SST Profibus Master/Slave card in the Clgx rack, and do what is required on the 505 end to get Profibus going.
I've used the SST Profibus card as a master and slave on an S5 platform with no issues

Does your 505 have 2572 (10mb) ethernet module or the newer 2572A fast (100mb) ethernet module? The newer fast module supports Ethernet/IP and there is an example in the user manual for communication with a CLX processor.
