GE and Fanuc dissolve joint venture

Correct me if I am wrong, but GE gets to keep the software (Proficy, Cimplicity, etc.) and the automation hardware (PLC's), while Fanuc gets CNC and robotics.

To me it seems like a natural progression - the Fanuc stuff (CNC/robots) always seemed to have less of the GE corporate influence.

You are not wrong, but to keep things accurate, robotics were never part of the joint venture.

How about..GE and Seimens are going to collaborate on a combined Software Platform that will allow common access between ALL plc's now in their stable and they are calling it.......
