Hi
I am at my wits end.
Previously I managed to get EGD working between 2 9030 PLCs in a test lab environment, but now when I am trying to get it working on 2 real plant PLCs it doesn't appear to do anything.
The status words don't show anything either.

One PLC has a 364 CPU in it and the other has a 374 in it. Should this cause any problems?

Could it be a firmware issue, although I don't know how to get the firmware version of the CPU?

Really need some help. PLEASE

No, the sticker with the part number is on the side of the plastic case next to the power supply module. But you can find the firmware version by going online with the programming software. Tell me what software and what version you're using and I can tell you the steps to find it.

An alternative is to use the PacsAnalyzer utility which can be downloaded from the GE support web site or on the PME install DVD of earlier versions. You can access it from the 'utiliti' menue of the newest versions of PME.
Searech this site for "PacsAnalyze" for more info.

Using PME, but not sure of version. Will check in the morning and report back.
Thanks for the help

It should be possible. Can you post the project file(s)?
Have you run the Ethernet cable through a switch to eliminate the possibility that point-to-point connection might require a crossover or thru cable?

You need to add two words (four bytes) at the beginning of the EGD data for status/control information. These two words are included in the data transmitted from the producer to the consumer, so both sides of the exchange must account for them. The one status word you have already defined is not included in the data transmitted. It is just a local status word.
There is a description in the manual GFK-1860, which is for the VersaMax Ethernet NIU, but it applies to any EGD exchange.

Thanks Steve
I now have data being produced and consumed, but only integers or words.
If I wanted to send %M1 or %M1 through to %M16, how would I do that?
I have read that this can be done using the EGD server or some configuration tools, but cannot see how to do it through PME itself.
Thanks again for your help
