Hi,I was looking for a PLC training kit and someone recommended me the new ZEN programmable Relay.I think this is a goodone for Practice, but this one doesn't come with many instructions like others PLCs(like shift register, move, difu ect).I don't know how to built them and if it's going to help me in some way.also I'm a littler comfused if I should choose another PLC.
Can anyone help with this?
I'll appriciate.Thanks.

Hi

I have found that the SLC500 PLC Training software offerd by
thelearningpit.com is a great way to start.. for only 35US$ its good value for your money... well that is my opinion.. try download a free demo valid for 30 days...

Be careful not to begin your training with a misconception. A programmable relay is not a PLC! While a programmable relay is user programmable, it often has various timers and counters it is far less capable then even the earliest PLC’s.

I’ve heard a lot of good tings about The Learning Pit, although I’ve never read there PLC material. In addition to that you might want to spend the money to buy a small PLC for practice. Currently Allen Bradley is selling a starter kit. You buy the 10 point Micrologix 1000 and they through in a RSLogix software package. However this software is only compatible with the 10 point Micrologix.
