How do you set up the PF 700S drive to commutate a MPL servo motor? THe PF700S manual describes how to enter the motor NPL data and the fact that you need their Hi Res optional encoder board installed so it can work with the MPL Stegmann encoder. However it does not seem to come out and describe how the drive commutates the servo motor so it will run.

Here is my (limited) knowledge on this subject: You have to set the drive up for PM (Permananet Magnet) motor during inital set-up. Depending on how new the 700S and HIM are, you may have to download updated firmware into the drive to give you all of the PM settings needed to set it up for use with the servo.
