How to network s7 cpu314c-2dp

When necessary we replace the cpu with a 31x-2 PN/DP but I really don't know how's that price related. I heard those are expensive, more then the €399 that converter is. But we stick with Siemens...
Using that converter I would use profibus for speed.

Just spotted what you wrote about SCADA connection.
OK, if it is only the SCADA that polls or transmits data, then the CPUs will not be the limitation.
What kind of SCADA is it ?
Will it use OPC, or a native driver, or .. ?

If you cannot change CPUs, then the easiest way is to add the NetLink adapter you have found, or from one of the other 3rd party supplier.
You could save a bit of money by only installing one NetLink per 4-5 CPUs.
Alternatively, you can go via the Profibus ports and install an CP5621 or several CP5613 cards. But I do not really recommend it. Too many things can go wrong.

If you could have chosen an alternative CPU, I would consider to switch to either IM151-8 (very good despite low cost) or 314C-2PN/DP (almost same as your current selection, only with a PN port).

At the moment looking at wonderware in touch, but I'm always open to suggestions, in the future AB plc's will be on the network.

Thanks for the replies
